Blackwork, also known as Spanish Work, is a very old type of counted thread embroidery thought to have originated when the Moors in North Africa (who were decorating their garments with motifs & borders) moved to Spain in the 8th century.
This kit is a great introduction to Blackwork. Even if you have done Blackwork before, this Blackwork flower would make a sweet wee sampler to hang on the wall.
