These slippers are a true Kiwi icon and so popular to kiwi babies and mums. They are so warm for their feet in the winters (& also cool in the warmer months) as the sheepskin is next to their feet. Being made from sheepskin means the outer soles are nonslip, so great for when they are learning to walk as they didn’t slip on the wooden floors. The upper part is knitted which means that the entire slipper is soft and pliable on their feet, right from birth. The sheepskin has been treated without harsh chemicals so they can be used next to babies’ skin. The slippers can be washed on a wool cycle in the washing machine, but DO NOT put into a tumble dryer or dry on a radiator.
These will come wrapped in tissue paper and boxed up with a special handmade card inside – all ready to be wrapped and gifted. The slipper tops are knitted from yarn that I have spun on my spinning wheel. The yarn is either handdyed by myself or natural colour fleece. These are truly made from the sheep – from the sheepskin soles, right through to the handspun wool for the top. They are both practical and unusual. These slippers would make a lovely unique present to give a new mum and baby.
This slipper is based on age 12-18 months/5″. The age and foot length given are approximate, but measuring the foot length would give you the better sizing guide. If you are purchasing these as a gift and measuring the foot is not an option, then I would suggest that going by the age is best.
I have tried to photograph the item so it shows the correct colour, but please keep in mind that the colour depends on your screen settings.
