Description

Blue-faced Leicester/Silk- Russet.  This wool is classed as long-wool and it is fine and dense with a good lustre and is long. It is known for its likeness to mohair.  Production of attractive lustrous yarns would be suitable for mitts, scarves and shawls. It is blended with silk fibre to add extra softness to the yarn.

This fibre was hand-dyed with professional wool dyes using my slow cooker dyeing method for colour fastness.
This hand dyed braid was split and spun onto two separate bobbins, then plied together to create a 2-ply marbled effect yarn.
The yarn thickness is in the 1” notch of the wooden gauge.
