The Economy block is basically a square in a square, and then that unit is placed into a square. It is a simple, no-waste block, hence the name – Economy Block. It is also known as Square in a Square block or Diamond in a Square. It is a great block for playing with fabric, using all your scraps to create a scrappy quilt, while the centre square of the block is perfect for making the most of fussy-cut prints. It is a block to play around with and have fun with.
This tutorial has diagrams and easy to follow instructions on creating [1] economy block.
The PDF is for a 4 page file for you to print out at home. I would highly recommend that you print the file out double sided and onto 100gsm weight paper for added strength and durability.
The printed option is for 1 set of [2] doubled sided pages printed onto 100gsm weight paper. There is also an option to have the set sent WITHOUT holes punched, or WITH holes (4 holes) punched to fit into the 4 hole handmade board folder.
