As quilters, we all need to cut our chosen fabric into certain sizes in order to sew those pieces back together to create a quilt. Most of the more common fabric cuts are in whole inches, half, or quarter inches.
However, what happens when the pattern says to cut out pieces measuring 3 13/16” or maybe 6 5/8”? Where are these measurements on the ruler? This explanation will give you a visual guide to explain the fractions in inches, where to find those measurements on the ruler and how to read and understand the markings on the ruler.
