The design features Inktense colouring, blanket stitch applique and simple embroidery (Back Stitch and Fly Stitch). The kits include everything you need to make the picture. The applique fabrics are good quality quilting cotton. The embroidery threads are lovely single thread DMC cottons. It DOES NOT include the outer border, binding fabric, wadding or backing fabric. I did it this way to give you the option as to whether you want to frame the completed design – this option also means that it is completely hand stitched – NO machine sewing needed. It is a great beginners project into machine sewing and patchwork, if you want to make it up into a wall hanging.

The size of the framed design is 16.5″ x 11″/ Wallhanging is 20″ x 15″

The kit includes the pattern with detailed instructions for making the wall hanging along with full sized templates for the applique and embroidery. If you have never done blanket stitch applique before, that this would be a great beginner’s project – I have included full instructions on how to use the bondaweb (which is also in the kit) and blanket stitch applique. I have included a section on how to do the Inktense colouring, if you have your own Inktense pencils at home and want to give it a go.

There are two kit options –

Standard Kit – plain calico so you can do your own Inktense colouring
Coloured Kit – calico has the design drawn on and coloured with the Inktense (heat set). The coloured kits are drawn up and coloured by myself and each one is unique – not machine done.
