The shorter days, winters closing in, pumpkins, cosy fires, and warm homemade soups – autumn is approaching. Celebrate Autumn with these Mug Rugs – different varieties of wild mushrooms decorated with simple stitching and Inktense painting (which is optional). A MUST for all mushroom lovers. These designs are not just limited to Autumn, but are a joy to use every season when we need to share the beauty of autumn colours.
SIZE – 6 ½” x 9 ½”
A Mug Rug is more than just a coaster to protect the surface of your furniture from a mug/glass. A mug rug can usually accommodate a mug and a treat like a biscuit or cake. Mug Rugs are not restricted to just mugs, they can be used to protect your furniture against pot plants, serving bowls and much more. They can adorn coffee tables, desks, bedside tables, hall tables or workstations. And when they are made in a seasonal theme, it is even nicer to decorate your house with. You are sure to find a space for these functional wee quilts. Mug Rugs are also a good introduction into quilt construction. They are a great way to use your scraps and make a great gift for little cost.
This pattern has the instructions/templates to create these four mug rugs. You can omit the Inktense painting and create striking Redwork mug rugs, either in multi or single colour.
This pattern is supported with full colour line diagrams and photos to make following and reading the pattern straight forward. It has also been tested by my wonderful group of pattern testers.
