Description

Romney originates from Kent and Sussex. However, this fibre is from a New Zealand bred Romney which are highly valued in NZ. The wool is a semi-lustre of excellent quality and staple, making it highly suitable for blankets, outer garments, mitts or hats. This fibre was hand-dyed with professional wool dyes over a grey coloured fleece using my slow cooker dyeing method for colour fastness.

This yarn is a 2-ply yarn, in that 2 bobbins were filled and then spun again in the opposite direction to create a balanced twisted yarn.

The yarn thickness is in the 1” notch of the wooden gauge.
