Do you love books and bookcases? If you are anything like me, I am sure you have a bookcase (or several) that is loaded with your favorite books and other items. My bookcases are stacked full of books of various sizes and heights, different subjects – craft references and novels. There are also plenty of items that really don’t belong on a bookcase, but then again, my bookcases store my favorite things – vases, boxes, ornaments, baskets of wool and so on. Revisit the characters & places that captured your heart while lost in your favourite books. A Bookcase Quilt is a must make for all book lovers.

This pattern DOES NOT give step by step instructions for you to replicate the image you see of my quilt. However, it DOES have a pattern to replicate the actual bookcase in two sizes (small or large). It’s the content and placement of books and items either on the shelves, on the top of the bookcase or around it; where your bookcase will vary and become individual.  This pattern contains design templates and is fully supported by instructions and suggestions so you can easily design and sew your own personalised bookcase quilt.

Due to the flexible nature of this quilt pattern, the fabric requirements listed are general guidelines.  Make it as scrappy as desired.  There are two sizes given in this pattern, but I am sure once you understand the structure of the bookcase, you can make this quilt any size you wish. I wanted this quilt to be unique to your personality and most importantly – FUN! I hope you enjoy your journey in creating your own unique and beautiful bookcase quilt.

This extensive Tutorial (33 pages) is supported with full colour line diagrams to make following and reading the pattern straight forward. It has also been tested by my wonderful group of pattern testers.
