Description
Blue-faced Leicester wool is classed as long-wool with lustre. The wool is fine and dense with a good lustre and is long. It is known for its likeness to mohair, and production of attractive lustrous yarns which would be suitable for mitts, scarves, shawls.
This fibre was hand-dyed with professional wool dyes using my slow cooker dyeing method for colour fastness.
This hand dyed braid was split and spun onto two separate bobbins and then plied together to create a 2-ply marbled effect yarn.
The yarn thickness is in the 1” notch of the wooden gauge.
Wool ply – Aran
Recommended needle size – 5-6.5mm
